Our jurisdiction consists of the southeast half of Allegheny Township. The Northwest half is served by the Allegheny Township #1 VFD. The township consists of 32 square miles of area and has over 8,000 of the county's 370,000 residents.
Allegheny Township is unique in that it contains everything from industrial parks and shopping centers to farms and large wooded areas, including the 548 acre Northmoreland Park. A lack of city water and fire hydrants in most of the township makes fire fighting even more challenging.
In 2004, Markle expanded its facilities to include a new large 2-bay station at the intersection of White Cloud road and Phillips Lane.
This new station is located approximately in the center of the township and has already cut response time to
emergency calls in half. It currently houses two fire engines, Engine 101-2 and our spare engine.
